New Layout, New Blog

This site has been sitting here for a while, it rarely does much, but my e-mail and other things depend on this domain, and the server this site is hosted on. So, I set-up a simple blog, which was more for gaming a various other things I wanted to be, although the main motivation was making some form of Ad Revenue from a site I have little use for, and this site has achieve that, although I am looking to change domains, and have a more professional site, as I get older, and I can have an online CV.

The layout I designed using a text-editor has been change to a more professional one I found, and i am likley to keep it, as this blog becomes more of the intellectual ramblings, opinions and world events rather than a blog dedicated to games.

This site will still be used for my general rubbish, and my scripts and other pages that are hosted here will continue to be, although SR Downloads will be moving.

Download LT 3.0

C4E’s iXtreme LT 3.0 in association with Team Jungle & Team Xecuter
—————————————————————-
Official release of the iXtreme LT v3.0 for Benq and phat Liteons
- Support for topology data on AP25 enabled titles. Will correctly answer any ap25 challenge eliminating need for dae.bin to create a backup.
- No need to make new backups everytime dae.bin is updated on console
Topology Data
————-
When ap25 was first introduced I devised a way of calculating any challenge which I called the silver bullet which I made reference to a long time ago.
This was withheld until it was absolutely necessary. It was easier to replay the fixed challenges.
With unique per console ap25 challenges it has become necessary to use the silver bullet.
A series of measurements are taken across the disk. This topology data is then used to calculate a response to any ap25 challenge.
It is very important that the drive used to create the topology data is reliable at reading discs as bad topology data equals bad ap25 responses.
Liteon drives using 0800 v3 seem to be more accurate for this purpose. Only ap25 enabled titles require topology data. Activation of ap25 on older non-ap25 games although technically possible is highly unlikely.
Currently topology data for xgd3 titles are similar and topology data from one xgd3 title will pass on another xgd3 title although this is not advisable.
Per title title topology data is best as there are slight differences between titles and newer titles could have different topology than existing ones.

I would like to wish everyone a merry xmas and a happy new year. I look forward to the challenges ahead.
Thanks go to Team Jungle for their hard work and efforts in the development process.
Thanks also go to Team Xecuter for their support to this project.

Internet Censorship and Why I wont stand for it

Web Censorship

I’m getting to the point of being sick when someone supports SOPA or Internet Censorship, it quite frankly disgusting. I know I don’t live in the uS, but this is something that may affect all of us. Essentially SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) stands to censor the Internet in an attempt to stop piracy, heres a video to explain it better:

So we see what we’re getting at here, SOPA is pretty damn overkill, and it doesn’t even solve the problem!

Although the US may not use this new-found power to cripple freedom of speech, we cannot say that middle eastern countries wont.

All this to sell a few more DVDs?

Why does this site look like s**t?

Good Question.
Basicly, because I want it to, its clean, simple and easier to be indexed by search engines, although it does currently look utter crap (i knocked it up in less than 10 minutes in a text editor) I will be making it look a little better :P

Clean HTML layouts are not only easy on the eye, they load fast. Its easy for search engines to index you and ultimately you will get higher rankings. Of course I’m not saying your site needs to be plain HTML, but use your CSS, HTML and possibly a little javascript or ajax. Some people have made brilliant layouts without all the ‘trimmings’ and its defiantly worth having a go at it.

Minecraft: Dynamic Heights Mod

I came across a mod the other week which really spoke out to me and caght my eye. The name of this mod was Dynamic Heights, now unfortunately I cant provide the link, it seems that it has disappeared from Minecraftforum.net.
Basicly the mod allows you to change the world height from the default 128, upto 2048. its huge.
